Rama swears in for second term as mayor of Pristina

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, took office today for his second term during the inaugural session of the Municipal Assembly, thanking the citizens for their trust and recalling that the responsibility of the institutions is shared.
Rama emphasized the determination to complete capital projects, to continue investments in education, health and rural development, as well as to support the innovative ideas of youth.
"This belief is a responsibility and a motive. We will work with unwavering dedication for our city," he said, reports Telegrafi.
Referring to the last four years, Rama noted that political blockades have hindered the city's development, but called on assembly members to cooperate: "We were each voted to serve citizens, not parties. I hope that in this mandate we will not create artificial blockades, but work for our future."
He also reiterated the importance of the work of the heads of departments and municipal administration: "Citizens have not elected us to feed our egos, but to work for them. I will be here 24/7 – without political color, without anger and without barriers."
As part of his vision "Prishtina Beyond", Rama announced that one of the key projects of the mandate will be the organization of the Olympic Games "Prishtina 2030": "This is a historic opportunity for the city and for Kosovo. We need unity and a common vision for the younger generations and for the international image of Pristina."
"This is our moment. Together we can build the Pristina of tomorrow. Now is the time for big things," concluded Mayor Rama.
