Paul Pogba in official talks to return to football after two years away

Paul Pogba is reportedly in official talks to make his return to the pitch after a two-year absence.

In 2023, the French midfielder was banned from football after DHEA, a compound that stimulates the production of hormones in the body, including testosterone, was found in his system.

Pogba initially received a four-year sentence, but after appealing this decision the suspension was reduced to just 18 months.

In March of this year, this ban ended, meaning the 32-year-old can now make his long-awaited return to football.

After his contract with Juventus was terminated, Pogba has been a free agent ever since.

Although he has been linked with a number of clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, nothing has materialised.

On Monday evening, it was reported that American club DC United had expressed interest in signing Pogba.

"This source, speaking on condition of anonymity, also confirmed that the club is in talks over a potential deal for the 32-year-old, who has been in several MLS games since playing his last professional game for Juventus shortly after being suspended in September 2023," their report said.
