"Pandora's box has been opened", expert: Albania and Kosovo should arm themselves

International relations expert Marlind Laçi said that "Pandora's Box has been opened" and that a surprising decade of negativity awaits the world.

Commenting on the increase in the stock of weapons in Serbia, expert Laçi said that both the Republic of Albania and Kosovo will have to arm themselves, as according to him, precedents have already been created by US President Trump himself, that borders can change through violence and there is the possibility of Serbian aggression in northern Kosovo.

"Serbia has an important valence in terms of military armaments, it is a state that has created chaos in the Balkans, both with the dissolution of Yugoslavia and further with provocations in the Republic of Kosovo and with terrorist organizations such as the terrorist attack in Banjska," he said on Euronews Albania.

"The decade that awaits us will be a surprising decade, towards negativity. "Pandora's box" has been opened and it seems clear that the Albanian states in the Balkans, both in the Republic of Kosovo and in the Republic of Albania, have no other choice but to arm themselves. Because we could have a Serbian aggression in relation to northern Kosovo. The precedents have been created by Donald Trump himself, who is clear that borders can change through violence, we do not have an international regulatory body that deals with reducing tensions and practically we have to think about how to protect ourselves," Laçi added.
