DP protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, Molotov cocktails and fireworks thrown at the police building - 21 people arrested

On Tuesday, the Democratic Party held its third national protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
There were no shortage of incidents in this protest, with many citizens throwing Molotov cocktails and fireworks towards the Prime Minister's Office building, with 19 police officers injured.
According to what Top Channel journalist Dorjana Bezat has learned, 21 people have been arrested by the police.
The arrested citizens are Kreshnik Çeço, Klodian Bajrami, Leonid Tusha, Klejdi Subashi, Suzana Dimushi, Ramazan Nuhu, Florian Nuhu, Daniel Zeka, Andrea Kulla, Fabiol Ahmeti, Geraldo Demiraj, Danjel Kulla, Artur Kadria and Arbri Ujkaj and 4 minors.
The police report states:
Following the investigative and procedural actions carried out under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, regarding the rally held on 10.02.2026, on "Deshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, the Crime Investigation specialists of Police Commissariat No. 1:
-arrested in flagrante delicto the following citizens: K. Ç., 36 years old; KB, 24 years old; LT, 21 years old; KS, 26 years old; Xh. V., 18 years old; RN, 28 years old; SD, 48 years old, FN, 32 years old; AK, 24 years old; FA, 22 years old; GD, 21 years old; DK, 27 years old; JK, 18 years old; AK, 20 years old; OH, 18 years old; SP, 18 years old; AU, 24 years old, and four 17-year-old citizens, for the criminal offenses of “Hitting due to duty”, “Intentional serious injury”, “Disturbance of public order and peace”, “Violation of rules on explosives and flammable substances”, “Destruction of property by fire” and “Opposition of a public order officer”;
-referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated against citizen EK, 32 years old, resident of Tirana, for the criminal offenses of "Disturbance of public order and peace" and "Opposition of a public order police officer".
In addition, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in a state of freedom for the citizens:
-EM, organizational secretary of the Democratic Party, for the criminal offenses of “Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations” and “Inducing a minor to commit a crime”;
-BK, KB, LB and FN, members of the Democratic Party, for the criminal offenses of “Opposing a Public Order Police Officer” and “Pushing a Minor into Crime”;
- Citizen LP, 41 years old, was declared wanted. Efforts are underway to capture him.
Yesterday afternoon, protesters initially gathered on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, in front of the Prime Minister's Office. They then moved towards the Parliament, where throughout the rally, they threw fuel, pyrotechnics and hard objects at police officers and public institution buildings.
As a result of attacks with hard objects, pyrotechnic devices and Molotov cocktails against police officers and state institution buildings, 16 police officers were injured, who received medical assistance in hospital and are out of danger.
As material evidence, 22 unexploded Molotov cocktails and 3 bottles of suspected gasoline were seized by the Police services near the Parliament.
The investigative structures of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continue their work to identify and arrest other citizens involved in violent acts during the rally.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. /Tch/
