More than 1,000 students have been left without food subsidies for November due to administrative oversights and insufficient coordination between faculties and the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), according to information from the student protection platform "Studentaria" and from the Ministry itself.

According to them, some faculties have not submitted the lists of registered students to the ministry on time, therefore many of them have been temporarily deprived of their right to food subsidies.

"Every month when students apply for food, the Ministry updates the data. If a student is deregistered or loses their status, their right is revoked," Goshe Nikolov from "Studentaria" explained to the media.

He adds that the problem with late or undelivered lists recurs every academic year.

"Some faculties did not send student lists on time at the beginning of the academic year. As a result, the Ministry revoked the right to meals for students registered there. The same thing happens almost every year because there is insufficient coordination between the faculties and the Ministry," Nikolov added.

The Ministry of Education and Science confirmed that the payment of student meal subsidies is made in accordance with the lists submitted by higher education institutions and that it cannot be done without confirmed and updated data. /Telegrafi/
