Four people have been arrested in South Korea, suspected of hacking over 120,000 IP cameras in homes and businesses, creating sexually exploitative material for a foreign website.

According to police, they exploited simple passwords and camera security vulnerabilities.

The compromised cameras were located in private settings, including homes, as well as a gynecological clinic.

Two of the suspects allegedly produced over 1,100 such videos and sold them for tens of thousands of dollars in virtual assets.

Authorities are working to shut down the website that distributed the footage and are cooperating with foreign agencies on the investigation.

Police have notified dozens of victims, asking them to immediately change their passwords and are helping them block the published materials.

Authorities warned that both the production and viewing of illegal videos constitutes a serious criminal offense. /Telegraph/
