Osmani reacts to Vučić's statement: Turkey is helping to protect peace, not destabilize

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has reacted sharply to statements by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who attacked Turkey, accusing it of harming stability in the Western Balkans.
In a post on the social network X, Osmani openly came out in support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the same day that former US President Donald Trump praised Turkey for its leadership in promoting global peace and security.
“Vucic is shamelessly attacking Turkey – a country that, as a NATO member state, is helping to protect peace,” Osmani wrote.
Osmani stressed that she is proud of her close cooperation with Erdogan, whom she described as "a man of his word, who has shown sincere care for the peoples of the region and has contributed to stability and security."
“Meanwhile, Vucic thinks he can threaten a major NATO country like Turkey in the same way he threatens his neighbors. Instead of cooperating with NATO states, he chooses partnership with Russia, China and Iran,” Osmani added.
The President said that Kosovo will continue strengthening ties with NATO allies, modernizing defense capabilities according to Alliance standards and contributing to collective security.
“Vučić should try to do the same, instead of constantly attacking his neighbors. But for his hegemonic mind, obsessed with the past, such maturity seems unattainable,” she stressed.
At the end of the reaction, Osmani thanked Erdogan and the Turkish people for their continued support for Kosovo:
"May our strong Kosovo-Turkey bond last forever."
Osman's statements came after Vučić said that "Turkey does not want stability in the Western Balkans," accusing Ankara of arming Kosovo.
