Osmani meets UN Women regional director: Kosovo committed to women, peace and security agenda

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, hosted a meeting with the UN Women Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Belen Sanz Luque.
The meeting took place in the month that marks the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Agenda for Women, Peace and Security, and in this context, President Osmani praised the progress that Kosovo has made in advancing this important global agenda.
She also reaffirmed the commitment of Kosovo institutions to guarantee security and comprehensive peace.
Osmani highly praised the cooperation so far with UN Women, emphasizing the important role that the organization has played in supporting gender equality objectives in Kosovo.
"This cooperation has helped strengthen the rights of women, girls and people with special needs, in the sustainable economic empowerment of women, as well as in increasing their participation in political and public life," said President Osmani.
She also appreciated the support that UN Women has provided to survivors of wartime sexual violence, to transitional justice processes, and to many other areas important for the democratic and inclusive development of Kosovo. /Telegrafi/
