Osmani: Kosovo's path towards NATO and the EU is unstoppable, relations with the US are deepening

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in an interview with the British media outlet Monocle, spoke about Kosovo's progress on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration and the deepening of relations with the United States of America.
Speaking about Kosovo's engagement in international politics and integration into Euro-Atlantic structures, President Osmani said that we have no dilemmas about our Euro-Atlantic path.
"We never have any dilemmas about our Euro-Atlantic path. Kosovo's path towards NATO and the European Union is unstoppable. Our Euro-Atlantic identity is inalienable and will never waver," Osmani said.
She emphasized the importance of historic American support and continued cooperation.
"The relationship we have with the US has always been existential. The US led the world to save us and gave us the opportunity to live in freedom and democracy. Kosovo has become one of the greatest success stories of American foreign policy," she said.
The President mentioned two main areas of expanded cooperation with the US: defense and the economy.
"In terms of defense, it is very important to have sufficient capacities for our security, especially given the unstable situation in the region. In the economy, we have great potential for American investment. When you invest in Kosovo, you are investing in hundreds of millions of European citizens, with an excellent legal and financial system and a pro-American country," said Osmani.
Speaking about the challenges of EU integration, President Osmani said that despite the fact that Kosovo has not yet received EU candidate status, our path towards Euro-Atlantic values will not change.
"We are 100% aligned with the EU and NATO in every foreign and security policy decision. However, we still do not have candidate status for the European Union due to some political considerations within some EU countries. But our patience will not be shortened – our path towards Euro-Atlantic values will not change," Osmani said.
President Osmani also appreciated the continued support of the United Arab Emirates, as an important international partner.
"Since 1999, when we experienced the genocidal war, the United Arab Emirates supported us in rebuilding the country from the ashes. Now they support us in the health sector and many other sectors. This support is vital for strengthening Kosovo's international position," said Osmani.
We recall that last week President Osmani participated in World Governance Summit in the United Arab Emirates./Telegraph/
