The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, signed today in Davos the Charter of the World Peace Council, making Kosovo a founding member, equal and with full rights in this international organization, side by side with the United States of America.

In a Facebook post, Osmani emphasized the importance of the US's leading role in guaranteeing global peace, describing this step as a historic moment for Kosovo.


"When America leads, peace is always more secure," Osmani wrote.

She has announced that membership in international peace organizations led by Kosovo's strategic ally strengthens the country's sovereignty and international position.

"Membership in international peace organizations led by our strategic ally strengthens our sovereignty, our international position, and is in the highest interest of the Republic of Kosovo," the president emphasized.

According to Osmani, the agreement will be sent to the Kosovo Assembly for ratification, in accordance with the Constitution, to receive the final approval of the people's representatives.

"This historic agreement will be sent to the Kosovo Assembly for ratification, in accordance with the Kosovo constitution," she added.

The President of Kosovo also thanked the President of the United States for the invitation and his leadership in this process.

"Thank you to President Trump for his leadership and for the invitation to represent the Republic of Kosovo at this historic moment," Osmani wrote.

In conclusion, she reiterated Kosovo's commitment to peace.
