Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has expressed optimism that the session where the second candidate for prime minister will be voted on will be called within the constitutional deadline, without waiting until the last day, November 19.

"As you know, the invitation for a session can also be made as an extraordinary session with 40 signatures of MPs, and I am convinced that it will be called in time, so that the constitutional deadlines are respected. I cannot prejudge what the result of the vote will be. The most important thing is that the session is called within that deadline. After that, it is in the hands of the MPs and political parties what they discuss among themselves," Osmani told reporters.

The President emphasized that her assessment of the candidates does not imply a request for guarantees.

"Regarding the signatures, this was not a guarantee issue. If there were two candidates, then it would be seen which of them has the greatest chances. But, when there is only one proposal, it is seen whether that candidate has the chances, and from what the candidate for prime minister, Glauk Konjufca, has expressed, it has been assessed by my side that he has those chances," she said.

Osmani also reiterated that he acted in accordance with the Constitution and did not cause delays in the process of forming the government.

"The Constitution is clear: if the first mandate fails, the second one is chosen. I have done nothing other than respect the Constitution. Let's not forget that there was a 9-month delay, which I did not request, nor support, nor cause as President. We have been waiting for the political parties for 9 months. I hoped that they would be patient for these two weeks as well," Osmani added.

The President made it clear that her optimism about calling the session was based on conversations with MPs and parties, and emphasized that the issue of blocking the process is not related to the Presidency. /Telegraph/
