President Vjosa Osmani visited the family of Mother Stanë Gashi in the village of Peshter, Brusi, today, on the occasion of the Easter holiday.
In a Facebook post, Osmani recalled the honor he had a few months ago to decorate Mother Stan with the presidential medal "Saint Teresa", in recognition of her extraordinary contribution during the recent war in Kosovo.
"A few months ago, I had the honor of decorating Mother Stan with the presidential medal 'Saint Teresa', because this mother proved in the most difficult times that she is a symbol of resistance, humanism and love for the homeland. During the war, she and her family opened their hearts and homes to hundreds of freedom fighters, while three sons and a daughter of Mother Stan joined the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army," Osmani wrote.
Alongside the visit, the President congratulated all believers on the Easter holiday, emphasizing the importance that this day has for Christian believers.
"I hope this holiday brings peace, joy and love to every family," she emphasized.
Easter, which is marked as the most important holiday in the Christian calendar, this year falls on the same weekend for all major branches of Christianity - Catholics, Protestants and Orthodox - a rare coincidence, as they are usually celebrated on different dates due to differences in the liturgical calendars they follow. /Telegraph/
