Osmani at the Haradinja Tower for the Dukagjin Epic, also present is Rifat Jashari

The country's President, Vjosa Osmani, paid homage at the "Martyrs of the Nation" Memorial Complex in Gllogjan, on the 27th anniversary of the Dukagjin Epic.

After the tributes, she also stopped at the Haradinaj Tower where she was received by the president of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and former commander of the Dukagjin Operational Zone, Ramush Haradinaj.

Rifat Jashari and Bekim Jashari and many family members of the martyrs, as well as fellow soldiers, were also present in the tower.

During today, there will be several activities on what is also known as Dukagjini Martyrs' Day.

Activities marking the Dukagjin Epic were organized by the Municipality of Deçan and began on March 21, while today homages are being held at the "Martyrs of the Nation" Memorial Complex in Gllogjan, from 11:00-12:00, and an artistic program at the Haradinaj Tower from 13:00.

On March 24, 1998, a frontal battle took place in Gllogjan between KLA forces and Serbian forces, who had surrounded Gllogjan, while their goal was the Haradinaj family home, where they encountered strong resistance.

On this day, Him Haradinaj, Gazmend and Agron Mehmetaj were martyred. /Kp/Telegraph/
