The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed a request for the imposition of a detention measure against E.Th., prior to the acceptance of the extradition request, based on the Law on International Legal Cooperation and the International Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania.
According to the announcement, the request for detention was submitted to the Basic Court in Pristina, on the well-founded suspicion that E.Th. has been convicted by the competent court in the Republic of Albania for several serious criminal offenses.
The Special Prosecution Office announces that E.Th. has been convicted of criminal offenses under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania, including: Drug trafficking, committed in a special form of cooperation, as part of a structured criminal group, introducing or keeping prohibited items in the institution of execution of criminal decisions and committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group.
According to the Prosecution, the detention measure was requested in order to ensure the presence of the suspect until the completion of extradition procedures to the Republic of Albania. /Telegraph/
