OpenAI signs $10 billion deal with Cerebras

OpenAI has announced that it will purchase up to 750 megawatts of computing power over the next three years from chipmaker Cerebras.
This is reportedly being done to cope with the growing demand for ChatGPT and to strengthen its position in the artificial intelligence race.
The deal is valued at over $10 billion, or about 9.2 billion euros, according to a source familiar with the matter.
Under the agreement, OpenAI will use Cerebras' cloud services for models that require time to "think" before providing answers.
OpenAI said that integrating Cerebras' technology aims to significantly speed up the responsiveness of its AI systems.
The deal is also being considered important for Cerebras, which is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO), aiming to diversify its revenues. /Telegraph/
