The oldest licensed ambulance in the United States has entered the Guinness Book of Records after two men drove it more than 5150 kilometers, from Hollywood, California, to Hollywood, Florida.
This 1972 Cadillac ambulance undertook the interstate journey with a team from Symbiosis Ambulance and Axene Continuing Education, a nonprofit organization for emergency medical services education.
The team stated that their trip, which began on March 1 and ended on Monday, was aimed at raising awareness of the importance of education in emergency medical services.
A representative from Guinness World Records confirmed that the journey of around 5200 km set a new record for the longest distance travelled by an ambulance.
To celebrate the completion of this challenge, the Axene Continuing Education team organized an ECG training session with firefighters and emergency medical services personnel in Hollywood, Florida. /Telegraph/
