Nunez will leave in the summer, Liverpool find his replacement

Interesting changes are expected in Liverpool's offensive department for next season.

The reigning English champions are expected to offload Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez and have already found his replacement.

RB Leipzig's Slovenian star Benjamin Sesko has become the Reds' top target to replace Nunez at Anfield, according to GiveMeSport.

Various media outlets on the Island have reported that the Reds are considering a transfer for the Slovenian striker, as they prepare for a possible departure of Nunez, who has struggled to meet expectations.

Nunez, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022, is said to be attracting strong interest from Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone is said to be keen to bring the Uruguayan to the Spanish capital, with the La Liga side seeing him as a potential replacement for Angel Correa, who could leave the club this summer.

With Liverpool reportedly informing Nunez that he is not in their long-term plans, sporting director Michael Edwards has identified Sesko as a key candidate to strengthen the attacking line.

Sesko, who reportedly has a release clause of £55m, was previously linked with Premier League sides Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
