"Now or never", mass protests in Israel - end of war demanded

Tens of thousands of Israelis are protesting en masse in Tel Aviv to mark the two-year anniversary of the October 7 attack - and to pressure Benjamin Netanyahu to close the Gaza deal and return all hostages.
"We are in the crucial days for an agreement," said the Hostages and Families of the Disappeared Forum.
"This is the moment when all of Israel must stand together and demand loudly - to do everything possible to bring our brothers and sisters home."
Families of the hostages expressed optimism that the latest ceasefire proposal would bring the hostages home.
Separately, US President Donald Trump told Netanyahu to stop bombing Gaza after Hamas accepted key parts of the US proposal that included the release of 48 hostages still being held in Gaza - 20 of whom are thought to still be alive.
An end to the war in Gaza seems closer now than ever before.
"Yesterday we went to bed with cautious optimism after many months of lockdown," said Ruby Chen, the father of slain hostage Itay Chen, 19.
"It's a fragile situation and we don't want to be disappointed again," added Viki Cohen, the mother of 21-year-old hostage Nimrod Cohen.
"I feel excited, hopeful and expectant, but also afraid that something will go wrong with the negotiations."
Some of the protesters carried a large banner that read "Now or Never."
"The deal is on the table, it was there all along," they chanted. /Telegraph/
