Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon ended his career two years ago, but it seems we will continue to see the Buffon surname on the football field for years to come. 

Gianluigi's son, Louis Thomas Buffon, is 17 years old and working towards becoming a professional footballer, but it's interesting that he won't be following in his father's footsteps when it comes to the national team. 

Namely, Louis Buffon has received a call-up to the Czech Republic national team and not Italy, which has surprised many fans, but the reason is completely acceptable. 

Louis Buffon has Czech citizenship because his mother is Czech. So Gigi's ex-wife, Alena Seredova, is Czech. Gigi and Alena have two sons from their marriage, before they divorced.  

Today, the legendary goalkeeper is married to Ilaria D'Amico, an Italian television presenter. 

Louis is close to the national team of his mother's country and has received a call-up to the cadet selection, while at the club level he plays for Pizza, where he plays in the youth team (a competition two years older than his age). 

This season, Louis Buffon has made 18 appearances for Pizza Primavera, scoring four goals. 

Czech media report that Louis has accepted their national team's invitation and will appear in the squad for the March tournament in Portugal, where the Czechs will face England, France and the host team.  

Buffon is considered by many football experts to be the best goalkeeper in football history.
