The budget rebalancing proposed by the government is a serious blow to the country's agriculture. For the first time in history, the rebalancing reduces subsidies for farmers, which directly reduces the financial support they receive. This is a complete precedent, because so far additional funds have always been added with the rebalancing, while now, on the contrary, they are being cut, said SDSM MP Ljupco Nikollovski, at today's session on the budget rebalancing.

He emphasized that the data clearly shows that in 2023 financial support reached 8.3 billion denars, while in 2024 it decreased to 6.7 billion denars, which represents over 30 million euros less for farmers.

"This is harmful not only for farmers, but also for the entire economy, because agriculture is a key sector for the country. In addition to reducing subsidies, additional support from previous years has not yet been paid, such as those for shepherds and gardeners in Strumica and Prespa, as well as support for delivered apples, which is minimal and insufficient," Nikollovski said. /Telegrafi/
