For some political structures in Bulgaria, Macedonia is always an interesting topic to attract voters, but by opening a debate about Macedonia, they only worsen relations, says Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Aleksandar Nikollovski, following statements from Sofia regarding the recent incident with the breaking of windows and doors at the entrance to the Bulgarian Embassy.

Nikolovski, when asked about relations with Bulgaria, told "Sitel" that the Government has not been fortunate enough to have political stability in Bulgaria for a long period of time.

"This government that has now fallen was the longest-lasting, it lasted 11 months and in those months we managed to agree on Corridor 8, which I am particularly proud of. Now they are entering the elections again, in the campaign and for certain political structures there, Macedonia is always an interesting topic to attract voters, but I think they are mistaken because in each subsequent election the turnout is lower, which means that this topic is not what citizens expect.

"The reason this government fell is the increase in taxes on pensions and dividends, which means that citizens are reacting to the economy and the budget, and not to relations with Macedonia. By opening a debate about Macedonia, they are only straining relations," Nikoloski said./Telegraph/
