Nicolas Maduro Guerra, the son of Venezuela's captured president, Nicolas Maduro, called for unity within the government and declared that the executive branch is following a "plan" that, he said, his father had approved before the United States arrested him.

"All the things that are happening, everything we are doing today as a government was Nicolas Maduro's plan... We are following his instructions," he said during a political meeting.

He said that his father "set the course" and was "ready for anything," and mentioned three instruments that he said were part of that plan: the Homeland Plan, the Seven Transformations Plan, and the Negotiations Plan, reports MEDIA.

"If something happens to me, this is the way. Here is the Homeland Plan. Here is the Seven Transformations Plan. Here is the Negotiations Plan," he said, attributing these guidelines to his father's previous instructions.

He added that the five points that Maduro "approved in December" are what they are working on today and that the country's future prosperity will be a result of this plan.

Maduro Guerra presented the call for unity as a signal of continuity of power after Maduro's arrest and openly supported Delcy Rodriguez, whom he called "our big sister" and described as heading the country's interim presidency, along with a "collective team of high-level political leadership."

In conclusion, he sent a direct message: "The homeland is in good hands."

Furthermore, he also expressed "unconditional" support for Rodrigues during the opening of the National Assembly, while confirmation of her nomination in parliament is awaited.

Otherwise, Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured and brought to the US, where they are expected to be tried on charges of narco-terrorism. /Telegraph/
