Newcastle United defeats Liverpool in the final, wins English trophy after 70 years

Newcastle have won 2-1 against Liverpool in the EFL Cup final at Wembley.  

 The first half didn't bring much scope, with Newcastle being the better side, while Liverpool didn't have a single shot on goal. 

Shortly before the end of this half, Dan Burn appeared on the scene, scoring with a header for 1-0.

The Lars started the second half better, finding the net with Alexander Isak, but it was disallowed for offside. 

But just a minute later, it was Isak who scored again, this time from a free kick to make it 2-0, bringing Newcastle closer to the trophy.

Liverpool tried to get back into the game with Curtis Jones, but instead Nick Pope was in. 

On the other hand, Newcastle came close to a third goal, but Isak's shot was saved by Caoimhin Kelleher. 

Liverpool came back into the game in extra time, when Federico Chiesa was accurate for 2-1.
