New world record – 10-year-old boy remembers 280 digits of Pi in just 60 seconds

A 10-year-old boy has set a world record by remembering the decimal digits of Pi in one minute.

Alberto Davila Aragon, a student from Bristol, set the new record by memorizing and reciting 280 digits in just 60 seconds.

Aragon's journey with mathematics began in March 2024, when his school organized a competition, reports the Telegraph.

"In March 2024, my school organized an exciting Pi number competition. Determined to win, I went home and committed myself to memorizing as many digits of Pi as possible," Alberto Davila Aragon told Guinness.

"I emerged as the winner of the competition, after memorizing an impressive 150 digits of Pi," he added.

According to Guinness, this was just the beginning of Alberto's record-breaking journey.

Motivated by his initial success, he continued to push himself, learning even more of the digits of Pi and improving his speed, until he was ready to challenge the world record.

When that moment came, his parents helped him organize the event.

After winning the competition by remembering 150 digits, Aragon continued to practice, eventually setting the record with 280 digits. /Telegraph/
