Hotels in Durrës have completed preparations for the end-of-year holidays. Interest in spending Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve is high, and this year there is a greater presence of foreign tourists who have chosen Durrës for these holidays.
According to tourism operators, hotel capacities in the beach area have been exhausted at around 90 percent of their capacity.
"This year we have a novelty, that the new year has had a high demand from foreigners to celebrate in Albania. So we have 90% of reservations from foreign citizens, who are Bulgarian, German, but also English citizens. The special thing is that we have a group from America, of about 40 people, who have decided to celebrate the new year in Albania," said Blerim Norja, a tourist operator.
Hotels have prepared special artistic and festive programs to offer a special atmosphere to customers.
"The thing that is most interesting and most attractive is the Albanian tradition, because the way we celebrate and the way we organize is 100% tradition. So, we have our non-negotiable menu, the traditional Albanian menu that never lacks baklava, turkey, milk pie... but also the way we organize the celebration, which is Albanian music, Albanian dance and traditional Albanian costumes. So, everything is 100% tradition," adds Norja.
Durrës continues to strengthen as an international tourist destination, attracting visitors from different countries around the world.
