Netanyahu warns: With Trump's help, we will finish the job with Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to "finish the job" with Iran with the support of US President Donald Trump.

Netanyahu was speaking alongside US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is visiting Israel on his first official trip to the region since taking up the role.

"Over the past 16 months, Israel has dealt a powerful blow to Iran's terrorist axis. Under the strong leadership of President Trump, I have no doubt that we can and will finish the job," Netanyahu said.

While Rubio said that "there can never be a nuclear Iran," he writes CNN, the Telegraph reports.

"It's important to emphasize over and over again that whether we talk about Hamas or Hezbollah, whether we talk about the violence in the West Bank, whether we talk about the destabilization in Syria, whether we talk about any of these issues that are the militias in Iraq, they all have one common theme - Iran," the US Secretary said.

"This needs to be addressed," he added.

It is known that US intelligence agencies recently warned both the Biden and Trump administrations that Israel is likely to try to strike key facilities in Iran's nuclear program this year.

But Israel's willingness to use military force conflicts with President Donald Trump's current desire for a peace deal with Tehran, and US intelligence warns that major attacks on Iranian nuclear sites could increase the risk of a wider war in the Middle East.

Overall, Israel is also pursuing the broader goal of bringing about regime change in Iran, according to one of the latest US intelligence reports.

Otherwise, Rubio landed in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, where he was greeted by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, on the first leg of his trip to the region.
