Musk angry with media reporting accidents at Tesla factories

Elon Musk is not happy with the way the media reported the accident caused by robots at his factory.

"It's really a shame for the media to write about a single case that happened two years ago, caused by a simple Kuka industrial robot arm (found in all factories) and link it to Optimus," Musk wrote on the platform X.

The Daily Mail recently published an article revealing an incident involving a factory robot at one of Tesla's factories. According to eyewitnesses, an engineer was running a software update on the factory's robots when the vehicle grabbed him and pulled him to the surface.

Witnesses of the event also noted that the engineer was left bleeding after the robot's 'attack' on his body. The engineer eventually escaped the robot's clutches when another worker pressed the stop button.

Musk's disappointment and condemnation is related to the Daily Mail's publication and how the accident was covered. The media story used a photo showing Tesla's Optimus humanoid robots, not the Hook robot arm that was the subject of the 2021 incident.

Of course, it's no surprise that Musk defends the Optimus robots for which he has high hopes. When introducing them, he noted that the economy could become "quasi-infinite" if Optimus robots become capable of manual labor. /Telegraph/
