Incident in Munich, Germany with at least 28 injured - the suspect is an Afghan asylum seeker, the moment of his arrest

An Afghan asylum seeker was arrested after a car crash that injured at least 28 people in Munich, Germany on Thursday, according to police reports.

A passenger car drove into a street demonstration by striking workers from the Verdi union near the city center.

She was then shot by officers, while the driver, a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, was arrested at the scene, foreign media wrote, according to the Telegraph.

Meanwhile, some images have been published which are said to show the moment of the suspect's arrest.

Earlier, a fire service spokesman told AFP that some of the injured were "seriously injured, some of them in a life-threatening condition."

And the Bavarian CSU Party and its national sister party the CDU have called for tougher restrictions on migration after a series of similar attacks that have shaken the country.

"This is not the first incident... we must show determination that something will change in Germany. This is further proof that we cannot continue to go from attack to attack," the party was quoted as saying. /Telegraph/
