The Moroccan national team has secured qualification for the final, after a penalty shootout victory over the Nigerian national team, after 120 minutes were not enough to determine the winner.

Morocco appeared more demanding in the first half, taking risks in the early minutes.

Brahim Diaz and Achraf Hakimi tried from distance, while the clearest chance came in the 39th minute, when Noussair Mazraoui was stopped by a spectacular save from goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, one of the key figures of the match for Nigeria.

Nigeria responded with dangerous counterattacks, with Ademola Lookman testing goalkeeper Bono, while the game was also characterised by strong tackles and yellow cards, with Calvin Bassey and Raphael Onyedika being punished.

In the second half, Morocco continued to press. Abde Ezzalzouli had two very good chances to score, but both times he was stopped by decisive saves from Nwabali.

Even tactical changes by Walid Regragui, including the activation of Youssef En-Nesyri, failed to change the result.

Even extra time brought no solution, despite the teams refreshing themselves with substitutions and last-ditch efforts to find the winning goal.

After 120 minutes, the score remained unchanged, sending the match to penalty kicks.

Morocco proved to be the most accurate in the penalty shootout, winning 4-2 and will now face Senegal in the final.Telegrafi/
