More than 300 killed, including many children – after widespread Israeli airstrikes in Gaza

More than 300 Palestinians were killed, including many children, and more than 100 were wounded after Israel launched widespread airstrikes on Gaza early Tuesday, Palestinian medics reported.

Early Tuesday morning, the Israeli prime minister's office said it had instructed the military to target Hamas throughout the Gaza Strip.

The attacks were reported to have hit targets in northern Gaza, Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis and Rafah, foreign media wrote, according to Telegraph.

A statement issued blamed the attacks on Hamas's refusal to release hostages held in the Gaza Strip and its rejection of the ceasefire agreement that Israel has claimed was proposed by US special envoy Steve Witkoff.

Israel promised to use "increased military force."

On the other hand, Hamas condemned the latest attacks, holding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for the "unprovoked escalation" against the Palestinians.

Hamas warned that the attacks violated the ceasefire and put the fate of the hostages at risk. /Telegraph
