Mitsubishi brings back the Eclipse Cross name with a new electric SUV for the European market

Mitsubishi is bringing back the Eclipse Cross name for a new all-electric SUV.

It is expected to debut in September 2025 and will be destined for the European market.

The new model will be based on the Renault Scenic E-Tech, as part of the growing collaboration between Mitsubishi and Renault.

The electric SUV will incorporate design elements from Mitsubishi's studio in Germany, with a new front-end design in the "Dynamic Shield" style, unique lighting and a practical cabin with two rows of seats, an information system integrated with Google and advanced driver assistance technologies.

Production will take place at Renault's Ampere Electric plant in Douai, France.

Mitsubishi has also confirmed a smaller electric crossover for the North American market in the summer of 2026, which will be based on the next-generation Nissan Leaf.

Meanwhile, the future of the current Eclipse Cross model outside of Europe still remains unclear. /Telegraph/
