Military Power Ranking 2026, Kosovo marks progress of three places – ranks 138th

International platform Global Firepower (GFP) has published its annual military power ranking for 2026, analyzing the military capabilities of 145 countries from around the world.
The ranking is based on over 60 different factors, including the number of military forces, land, air and naval armaments, defense budget, logistical capacities, financial situation, and the geographical position of each country.
All of these are calculated in an index called PowerIndex, where lower rankings mean greater military power.
According to the GFP, the formula used enables even smaller, but technologically advanced, states to compete with larger, but less developed powers.
So, where does Kosovo rank?
In the annual ranking 2026 Kosovo ranks 138th (the military power index is considered 3.8041).

Unlike last year, Kosovo has progressed by three places in the annual ranking. 2025 Kosovo was 141st (The KSF military strength index was 4,9141).
According to Global Firepower, the United States of America ranks first in military power. /Telegraph/
