Microsoft's vision for the future: We will all be bosses of virtual workers

Good news for the future is coming! Microsoft predicts that in the future, due to the development of artificial intelligence, we will all become 'bosses' of virtual employees.

The technology company foresees the emergence of a new type of business, so-called "frontier firms", where human employees will manage autonomous artificial intelligence agents to perform tasks.

Microsoft predicts that everyone will become chief agent.

"As the number of agents in the workforce increases, we will see the rise of the chief agent - someone who helps, delegates and manages agents to increase their impact and takes control of their careers in the age of artificial intelligence," says Gerard Spataro, one of the leaders at Microsoft.

"From the board of directors to all other parts of the companies, every employee will have to think like a startup CEO with agents at their disposal," Spataro adds.

Microsoft, which is a major backer of ChatGPT creator OpenAI, predicts that every business organization in the next five years will become an “edge company.” They believe these business entities will be “much different” than they are today and will be organized around “on-demand intelligence.”

"These companies will grow faster, operate faster, and create value faster," the company said.

They also predict that the emergence of a class of artificial intelligence bosses will occur in three stages.

First, every employee will have a virtual assistant. Then, artificial intelligence agents will join groups as “digital colleagues” and perform specific tasks.

Finally, humans will define instructions and tasks for these agents, who will carry them out autonomously, while their bosses will supervise them as needed.

For example, in the role of supply chain workers, Microsoft says agents will be able to perform all logistical tasks, while humans will run the system and manage supplier relationships. /Telegraph/
