Michael Schumacher's wife makes 'big decision' as photos and videos reveal F1 legend's condition

Michael Schumacher's wife has reportedly made a 'big decision' after the F1 driver allegedly became the target of a blackmail scheme.

The Ferrari legend was left in a critical condition after a skiing accident in the French Alps on December 29, 2013.

At the time, aged 44, Schumacher fell and hit his head on a rock while wearing a helmet.

After suffering severe brain trauma, he was put into a medically induced coma and eventually left the hospital the following year when he regained consciousness.

Since the event, the now 55-year-old has led an intense private life, which was allegedly discovered by his former bodyguard, Markus Fritsche.

Fritsche has been accused of stealing photos and videos in a €15 million blackmail scheme.

He allegedly stole about 900 photos and 600 videos containing classified medical documents and information about Schumacher's health, according to prosecutors.

The three accused men – including Yilmaz Tozturkan and Tozturkan's son Daniel Lins – appeared at the Wuppertal District Court on 10 December.

Corinna Schumacher, the wife of the seven-time world champion, reportedly filed a motion to prevent the public from learning details about her husband's health during the trial.

She wants to 'exclude the public from the trial', according to the German news outlet BILD.

This comes after Tozturkan told the court, according to the Daily Mail: "Me and Fritsche have known each other for a long time. We keep in touch and met for a coffee. He said he had this material in his possession and asked me if we could do something with it. I told him: 'I will ask but we will definitely be able to do something'".

"They gave me two hard drives, one was black and the other was blue. For the most part I accept everything, but I did not buy the photos. I was going to try to sell them first, but when I didn't have any interest, then I contacted the Schumacher family."

“The guy only helped me by giving me an email address, that's all. He didn't know anything about the blackmail," he added. /Telegraph/
