Mexhiti-Kallas meeting: Reforms and the fight against corruption are the key to the country's integration into the EU

The First Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Izet Mexhiti, has emphasized the importance of close cooperation with the European Union and the implementation of deep reforms as an irreversible path towards EU membership.

Today he met with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

Mexhiti described this meeting as an important step towards strengthening the country's European perspective.


"Close cooperation and the determined fight against corruption are key to our path towards EU integration," said Mexhiti, underlining that the current government is committed to building a strong, fair North Macedonia with clear prospects for its citizens.

He added that with the support of international partners, the country will move decisively towards the strategic goal of EU membership.

“Our commitment is unwavering,” he stressed, also mentioning the close cooperation with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Minister of Foreign Affairs Timco Mucunski in this regard.
