Medical emergencies in the capital are facing numerous problems, doctor Sejfullah Ademi tells TVM2.

According to him, based on the number of residents in Skopje and based on European standards, the medical emergency should have at least 20 teams to assist patients.

"The emergency services within the city of Skopje, unfortunately, are faced with a significant shortage of medical personnel, starting with doctors, nurses and drivers themselves, as these constitute a whole team, as well as the ambulances that are currently depreciated and almost impossible to operate in the field to provide medical assistance to the population," said doctor Sejfullah Ademi to TVM2.

Doctor Ademi appeals to the Ministry of Health to take measures as soon as possible to solve the problems in emergency care, both by supplementing the medical staff and by supplying new ambulances.

"As an emergency aid within the city of Skopje, we unfortunately operate with a quarter of our total capacity, which makes our work impossible or very difficult, and the population cannot be provided with quality services when they need them most in critical moments, so we appeal to all citizens to be careful in receiving therapy and for their health, and the main appeal is to the Minister of Health to take urgent measures to improve the conditions in the Emergency Aid, to accept new medical personnel, and to equip ourselves with new ambulances, because we are on the verge of collapse," said doctor Sejfullah Ademi to TVM2.

Doctor Sejfullah Ademi also emphasizes that in recent years they have also faced a lack of necessary medicines for patients, and a continuous decline in the therapy they possess, and asks that if they lack the basic therapy that provides help to patients, then how can they provide help and treat patients who need it most? /tvm2
