The registration period for voters outside Kosovo for the extraordinary elections for the Assembly of Kosovo has concluded.

According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission (CEC), during the period November 26 - December 6, over 84,700 applications for registration were received through the CEC's electronic platform, of which around 71,900 were approved.

This was announced to Telegraf by the CEC spokesperson, Vlamir Elezi.

"The number of rejected applications is around 6,700, while around 5,900 applications are still under evaluation," Elezi said.

Of the approved applicants, the majority have chosen to vote by mail.

Over 51,000 voters will send their ballot packages to mailboxes outside Kosovo, while around 2,500 others will deliver them to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo. Meanwhile, around 18,000 citizens have chosen to vote physically at Kosovo's diplomatic missions.

Elezi emphasized that the registration process went smoothly.

The CEC warns that all voters outside Kosovo must be informed about the voting method and the respective dates for submitting ballots, in order to ensure their participation in the December 28 elections. /Telegrafi/
