An operation has been underway since the early hours of the morning in the city of Vlora as RENEA forces have surrounded the Uji i Ftohtë area. As can be seen from the footage, numerous police officers are positioned in different areas of Uji i Ftohtë.
This operation comes after SPAK has signed 7 arrest warrants, including for Flodian Plaku, who was previously arrested for the murder of Gentjan Bejtaj. RENEA is reportedly searching for Ervis Matodoshaj during this operation.
Sources from the Vlora police tell Euronews.al that suspected criminal exponents have been under surveillance for some time, intervening this Saturday to arrest them. As part of the operation, a wide security perimeter has been set up, while the officers are masked and armed.
About 40 special forces personnel and about 10 vehicles, including armored vehicles, were deployed in connection with the operation. The operation was also monitored from the air through the use of a drone.
The Vlora police and the National Bureau of Investigation have also joined the action. /euronews.al/
