Marta Kos postpones visit to Kosovo due to political developments

European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, will cancel her planned visit to Kosovo due to recent political developments in the country.
This has been confirmed by European Commission officials, specifying that Commissioner Kos has already informed Prime Minister Kurti of her decision.
Commissioner Kos intends to travel to Pristina as soon as possible, the European Commission press office said.
The visit to Kos was scheduled for the middle of this week.
Kosovo is the only country in her portfolio that she has not yet visited, even though she holds the European post from December 2024.
Last year, the reason for not visiting was the institutional crisis in the country. Immediately after the December 28 elections, she announced a visit to Kosovo as soon as the country's institutions were formed.
It was intended that this visit would also coincide with the news of the lifting of measures against Kosovo.
European officials, meanwhile, have expressed regret over the recent political developments in Kosovo. They do not wish to comment further, as they are awaiting the final decision of the Constitutional Court. /rtk/
