Market Inspectorate closes 26 motels and villas

The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, operating within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, has carried out a wide inspection action in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Tax Administration and the Central Labor Inspectorate.
The purpose of the action was to ensure compliance with legal standards, protect consumers, guarantee fair competition and verify the fulfillment of legal obligations by economic entities.
During this operation, 69 economic entities were inspected, with a particular focus on businesses operating in the field of hospitality and tourism, including villas and motels in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
Based on legal powers, inspectors of the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate have ordered the temporary closure of 26 economic entities, mainly for failure to register businesses and lack of consents or decisions proving compliance with minimum technical conditions.
A total of 27 punitive measures were imposed on economic operators who carried out their activities in violation of the legislation in force.
The Central Inspectorate for Market Surveillance has announced that similar inspection activities will continue in the future, with the aim of strengthening the rule of law and creating a safe, orderly and transparent environment for the development of economic activities in the Republic of Kosovo. /Telegrafi/
