Man United fans are begging Amorim to transfer the star ball as early as January
Manchester United fans are calling for Ruben Amorim to bring a Sporting Lisbon player to Old Trafford after watching their match against Estrela in the Portuguese League.
Amorim was confirmed as United's new manager on Friday but will not take charge at Old Trafford until November 11.
That means he has three games left at Sporting, the first of which is a league game on Friday night.
The Portuguese giants had won all nine of their matches in the Portuguese League this season before the match, and quickly made significant strides towards 10 consecutive victories.
Sporting led 3-1 at half-time, dominating possession at the Estadio Joao Alvalade and had five shots on goal against their struggling opponents.
All three goals came from their top man Viktor Gyokeres - who had scored 12 goals in just nine games before Friday night - scoring a stunning hat-trick in 42 minutes.
He has already scored 19 goals already this season and is well on his way to match his previous season's tally.
But United fans want the club to quickly complete a move for the €100 million striker.
One wrote: "I've seen enough to get Gyokeres to United ASAP."
A second said: "At this rate Amorim might have to bring Gyokeres with him when he comes to United because United and Zirkzee can't do half of what I'm seeing here."
A third added: "Gyokeres better be 1+1 in the Amorim deal with United." /Telegraph/
