The immediate reaction of a Man United fan who hasn't cut his hair in over a year has gone viral after the Red Devils failed to win against West Ham.

Since Michael Carrick was appointed as Ruben Amorim's successor, the Red Devils have been in excellent form. United have beaten big teams such as Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.

On Tuesday evening, they arrived at the London Stadium with the aim of recording five consecutive victories against West Ham, who are going through a difficult period.

A United fan, Frank Ilett, was very interested in this match because of a grand challenge that had started more than a year ago.

Ilett, known as "The United Strand", had decided not to cut his hair until United had won five games in a row.

Tuesday was the decisive moment: if United won, he would get a haircut; if he drew or lost, the challenge would be re-established.

After a cautious first half that ended 0-0, West Ham took the lead in the 50th minute with a goal from Tomas Soucek.

In extra time, Benjamin Sesko scored to tie the score at 1-1 and salvage a point for the Red Devils.

For "The United Strand", the challenge was re-established and now he needs five consecutive wins again to get that eagerly awaited haircut.

At the end of the match, he sat in his chair, shocked and speechless. Then he greeted his friends and said: "It was a strange match. Heartbroken."

We remind you that United's next five matches are against Everton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Bournemouth.Telegrafi/
