Man City star offered himself to Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants said 'no' to him

There is no shortage of players who are eager to sign for Real Madrid and there are many agents who make efforts to bring their clients to the 'Santiago Bernabeu'.

This has resulted in Los Blancos receiving many offers from players, something that rarely happens with their rivals.

The latest case of this nature is that of Manuel Akanji. The Swiss defender has spent most of the last few seasons competing against Real Madrid in the Champions League, but Marca explains that Akanji has offered himself to Real Madrid as an option for this summer.

City manager Pep Guardiola is planning to make big changes to his squad in the summer and Akanji believes it is time for him to embark on a new adventure.

The Spanish daily further reports that 'Los Blancos' have no intention of bringing Akanji to their team.

Real Madrid have suffered a lot from injuries in the defensive phase over the last two seasons, following serious injuries suffered by Dani Carvajal, David Alaba and Eder Militao.

They tried to sign Leny Yoro last summer too and it was injuries that brought Raul Asencio to the scene.

In any case, Akanji does not fit into Real Madrid's transfer policy.

Although he can play in several different positions, he still has two years left on his contract with City and his move to Spain would not be possible without a significant amount of money being paid.
