Maignan breaks silence after serious head injury against Udinese

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has told fans he is fine after a hard blow to the head during his side's 4-0 away win over Udinese on Friday.

The French international was forced to leave the game at the start of the second half after a head-on collision with teammate Alex Jimenez.

Maignan quickly came out of his area and tried to clear the ball with his head, but instead collided with his player and was left unconscious for a few moments on the field.

He was taken off the pitch on a stretcher and taken to hospital for medical tests. Maignan was conscious and talking by the time he reached the stadium tunnel.

Maignan has now given an update to his fans through a message he posted on his social media.

"The advantage of being hit hard on the head is that you have a strong head. Everything is fine, thank God. Thank you for your replies and messages, I appreciate it," Maignan wrote.Telegraph/
