"Customs officers from Tetovo Customs have prevented an attempt to smuggle goods loaded in Turkey and destined for an importer in Skopje. It concerns 2000 kg, or 200 bags of 10 kg of laundry detergent with the Ariel trademark, which infringes intellectual property rights. Through the sector for non-tariff measures and protection of intellectual property rights at the Customs Directorate, the legal representative of the right holder has been notified, who has confirmed that the Ariel detergent in question is counterfeit and infringes intellectual property rights, therefore consent has been given to destroy the goods."

"A corresponding report will be filed against the perpetrator, after the completion of the procedure. The continuous efforts of customs officials to destroy illegal trade and smuggling are very important for the protection of citizens' health and the prevention of the smuggling of harmful products, as well as for the protection of the environment from pollution caused by uncontrolled chemical composition," the Customs Directorate says.
