Macedonian reacts after Vučić's statements: Kosovo will strengthen defense capacities

Kosovo's Minister of Defense, Ejup Makedonci, has reacted to statements by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić made during the presentation of the "Serbia 2030" strategy, where he said that Kosovo is part of Serbia and that there is currently no partner for dialogue in Kosovo.
The Macedonian said that these statements constitute a continuation of a political narrative that denies reality and which, according to him, aims to keep the entire region under tension.
He said that the Republic of Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state with legitimate institutions that emerged from the democratic will of its citizens, emphasizing that this reality is irreversible and cannot be changed through political declarations or internal strategies of Serbia.
The Minister of Defense also raised concerns about the plans announced within the framework of the "Serbia 2030" strategy, which include increased military spending, multi-billion dollar investments in armaments, the development of the drone industry, and the creation of an advanced digital army.
According to Macedonci, when these developments are accompanied by territorial claims against Kosovo and rhetoric that denies its statehood, as well as the so-called "Serbian World" project, they create real concerns for security and stability in the region.
He also mentioned developments in recent years, including the armed attack in Banjska, for which Kosovo authorities have accused structures supported by Serbia.
The Macedonian stressed that Kosovo remains committed to peace and stability in the region, as well as to sincere dialogue that would lead to mutual recognition between the two sovereign states.
He added that the Government of Kosovo will continue to strengthen defense capacities, develop the Kosovo Security Force according to professional standards, and deepen strategic cooperation with Euro-Atlantic partners, emphasizing that the country's security and sovereignty are non-negotiable. /Telegrafi/
