Macedonia-Bulgaria Railway Karadzho, Nikolovski: Tells bedtime stories

Bulgarian authorities are again asking Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikolovski whether he will sign the preliminary agreement they sent him in the winter for the Corridor 8 railway and the construction of the border tunnel.

This comes after Nikoloski recently accused Bulgaria of not wanting to build the railways and of having sent 15 official messages to Sofia, none of which were responded to.

His Bulgarian counterpart, Grozdan Karadzhov, stressed that the existing tracks on the Bulgarian side allow the train to move at up to 80 kilometers per hour, and the line is now being designed for 2032, which will allow the train to move at up to 160 kilometers per hour. However, as Bulgarian Minister Karadzhov added, the question is whether this train will end before the tunnel.

"I have a feeling that these are bedtime stories from Macedonia, because while Nikoloski is talking about these things, the train has already passed through Pernik, Radomir, reached Kyustendil, and from there stopped at the last station in Gjueshevo to wait for the Macedonian train to arrive," emphasized Grozdan Karadzov, Bulgaria's Minister of Transport.
