MFA reacts after the arrest of Mitehat Llozhani in Serbia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has announced that the citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, Mitehat Llozhani, was arrested by Serbian authorities immediately after entering Serbia, at the Batrovci border crossing, on the border with Croatia.
According to the MFA, immediately after receiving information about the case, all institutional actions were taken. The Liaison Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has addressed an official request to the Liaison Office of Serbia in Kosovo, requesting confirmation of the arrest, clarification of the concrete reasons for the detention, as well as other relevant information for the further handling of the case.
The European Union Delegation to Serbia has also been notified of the case, while verbal notes have also been sent to the diplomatic missions of the Quint countries accredited in Serbia, with the aim of ensuring the engagement of international partners in protecting the rights and security of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
The MFAJ announces that the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Serbia, Jetish Jashari, is in constant contact with the family of the arrested person and that, through the Liaison Office, an official request for permission to visit Mitehat Llozhani will be processed.
The Ministry has called on the International Community to increase pressure on the Serbian authorities, emphasizing that the practices of arrest and mistreatment of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo constitute a violation of international norms and standards for human rights. /Telegrafi/
