The Department of Internal Affairs in Gostivar has announced that seven Turkish citizens have been arrested, who, it said, have abused their tourist visas.

The Gostivar Public Prosecutor's Office said that a corresponding complaint will be filed against them.


"On 14.11.2025, between 14:50 and 15:55, police officers of the DPB Gostivar, in cooperation with the Sector for Cross-Border Crime, Migration, Foreigners and Readmission Gostivar and inspectors of the Labor Inspectorate, conducted a raid on a building under construction on "Beliçica" street in Gostivar. During the raid, seven citizens of the Republic of Turkey were found and arrested in the building, namely MK (51), AB (55), JI (56), MA (40), TU (55), S.Ç. (35) and Xh.Ç. (33), because they abused their tourist stay, i.e. they stayed contrary to the purpose of the permit. They were detained at the police station and after full documentation of the case, a relevant complaint will be filed against them," the announcement states.
