Raising awareness among consumers about the importance of purchasing local agricultural and processed products, which will support farmers, processors and the local economy, is the goal of the new campaign announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy (MBPEU).

The campaign will be titled "The Best of Macedonia" and, as the relevant minister Cvetan Tripunovski says, it envisages an innovation - the creation of a platform for easy access to information for producers and sellers of agricultural products, as well as for better evidence of agricultural production in the country.

"Last month we worked on a project with which we want to promote the purchase of domestic agricultural products and processed products. The campaign will be called "The Best of Macedonia", and over the next ten days there will be an official presentation. We will promote the goals and all aspects that we plan to implement and achieve", emphasizes Tripunovski.

According to him, the goal is to encourage the purchase of Macedonian agricultural products.

"What is the essence, the core of this campaign, is to raise awareness among the Macedonian consumer that by buying agricultural products and processed products from Macedonia, we are actually helping, first of all, the one who produces that product. This is the respected farmer who works hard in the fields to produce and have enough food. By buying every agricultural product, we are also helping the local economy, we are helping all the processors who participate in the sector," the minister emphasizes.

The planned platform, he explains, will register all agricultural producers by type of production. All markets and processors of agricultural products will also be registered.

"The innovation is the introduction of a platform that will enable the connection of producers, processors and consumers, with the aim of easier access to domestic agricultural products and better production records. Every citizen will be able to choose the type of product they want to buy with one click, to see where it is sold. We will have a database that means a complete record of all agricultural production in the country," stressed Tripunovski.

He underlines that with every purchase of any agricultural product, we directly help the local economy, villages and farmers.
